The National Asian Pacific Islander Prosecutors Association (NAPIPA) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting justice and to advancing the interests of prosecutors of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) heritage.
Yi Liu is a Senior Counsel at the New York City Law Department in the Labor and Employment Division. Yi defends the City of New York, its departments and agencies, and employees on Labor and Employments matters in Federal and New York State Courts, and Administrative Proceedings.
Previously, Yi was a Deputy Bureau Chief at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. As a Deputy Bureau Chief, Yi supervised a team of assistants on all aspects of prosecution from initial intake and case evaluation to hearings and trials. Yi oversaw suppression and evidentiary hearings and jury trials. As a Senior Assistant District Attorney, Yi conducted numerous hearings as well as jury and bench trials on violent felony offenses. Yi also led investigations involving police corruption and identity fraud relating to banks and financial institutions.
Yi is an active member of the National Asian Pacific Islander Prosecutors Association and Asian American Bar Association of New York. Yi currently serves as the Vice-President of the New York Chapter Board of NAPIPA and the Treasurer of the NAPIPA Foundation. Yi previously served as a vice co-chair of the Prosecutor's Committee of the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
